First Quarter

MICHIGAN STATE 7, PENN STATE 0: Brian Hoyer 11-yard pass to Kerry Reed, 5:15. Drive: 2 plays, 11 yards, 0:19. Key plays: An Anthony Morelli sack and immediate fumble gave the Spartans the ball on the 11-yard line. Nineteen seconds later, Reed reeled in a TD from Hoyer.

MICHIGAN STATE 10, PENN STATE 0: Brett Swenson 45 field goal, 3:19. Drive: 5 plays, 16 yards, 1:25. Key plays: Another Penn State fumble, this time by senior tailback Tony Hunt, gave the Spartans the ball at the 44. A 4-yard pass to Eric Andino from Hoyer set Swenson up for the field goal.

Second Quarter

PENN STATE 7, MICHIGAN STATE 10: Morelli 17 pass to Andrew Quarless, 8:40. Drive: 12 plays, 56 yards, 4:56. Key plays: On a third-and-12, the Penn State offense finally came through. Morelli connected with the 6-foot-5 freshman, who shook off   Michigan State's Travis Key and made his way into the end zone. It was the first touchdown of Quarless' PSU career.

MICHIGAN STATE 13, PENN STATE 7: Swenson 29 field goal, 1:15. Drive: 7 plays, 31 yards, 2:40. Key plays: A 6-yard pass to Reed got the drive started. Hoyer's 28-yard pass to Kellen Davis put the Spartans on the nine. An illegal procedure pushed Michigan State to the 14, stalling the drive and setting up Swenson.

Third Quarter

PENN STATE 14, MICHIGAN STATE 13:
Morelli 6-yard pass to Jordan Norwood, 4:47. Drive: 7 plays, 8 yards, 2:30. Key plays: Morelli connected with Derrick Williams for a 23-yard gain. A 23-yard screen pass to Hunt put the Lions on 35. Morelli slipped the ball past two defenders to find Quarless for a 29-yard game. The junior QB capped off the drive with a 6-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Norwood. It was the first pass to a Penn State receiver in Big Ten play this season.

Fourth Quarter

PENN STATE 17, MICHIGAN STATE 13:
Kevin Kelly 45 field goal, 4:28. Drive: 8 plays, 49 yards, 3:36. Key plays: A 21-yard run by Hunt got the drive going. Rodney Kinlaw picked up another three yards, and an 18-yard pass to Terell Golden put Penn State on the 33. Three plays later, Kelly connected from 45 yards out.
