3rd Element Consulting, a woman-owned technology consulting firm that specializes in Linux and Open Source solutions, is showcasing and launching a new product Monday during an open house at the Mechanicsburg business.

The new product, DMS3, is an open source document management system that can compete with industry leaders such as Laserfiche, at a fraction of the cost.

Technology and security solutions

3rd Element Consulting, a regional provider of technology and security solutions that formerly was a subsidiary of MT3 Corp., will hold a ribbon cutting at noon to celebrate joining the West Shore Chamber of Commerce. The open house will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

“The open house is a meet-and-greet for our clients and perspective clients to come in and say hello and check out our new product,” said Dawn R. Sizer of Boiling Springs, chief executive officer. She and her husband, David Sizer, who is chief operations officer, are both from an engineering and consulting background, joined forces to start the company in 2005.

Since launching their collaborative business venture, 3rd Element Consulting has helped organizations ranging from standard small business owners to government agencies simplify and optimize their Internet technology (IT) as they pursue the goal of creating a more cost efficient and productive organization.

Data security, disaster recovery, planning, procurement, and Lunix implementations are just some of the typical IT services that are scaled down to meet the needs of their clients.

“Linux is a free downloadable operating system that has UNIX roots, (and) has 20 different varieties,” Dawn Sizer explained. “It works great for small businesses since (Lunix) does not require the use of Windows, and it is also a very good solution for government and public safety. It keeps operation costs at a minimum.”

Client focused

She said the company, which has four employees, is hands on and client focused.

“We are not just technology for technology sake,” she said. “Our clients are great to work with and our goal is to keep our clients happy…. We do not have dispatch services - when our clients need us, they call our cell phones. We firmly believe in a direct line of communication between our clients and the engineer.”
