Pat Cannon's luck has been horrendous this season at Selinsgrove Speedway.

Mechanical failures have kept the Etters-based driver on the sidelines during several events at the track.

Saturday night, however, the Zane and Vicki Highlands-owned team put together a complete night. The end result was Cannon's first victory of the year, in the track's 25-lap 358 Sprint car feature.

Cannon lined up ninth in the Highlands Tire Service, Newville Construction Services, Boiling Springs Service Center No. 3, but wasted no time in driving to the front of the field. Cannon, a winner earlier this season in 358 Sprint car action at Williams Grove and also in ASCS 360 competition at Susquehanna Speedway, took the lead from Scott Messimer on lap seven and was never seriously challenged in his second career win at the track.

Mike Walter was the runner-up finisher over Jeff Furlong, Phil Walter and Scott Flammer. Carlisle's Jason Shultz finished seventh and Carlisle's Dave Calaman was 22nd.

Jim Yoder scored the 25-lap late model win over Coleby Frye, Chris Shuey, Tony Adams and Dustin Hoffman.

Gary Beward won the Ink Spot Printing 20-lap event for pro stocks over Jason Smith, Larry Hare, Jace Cresswell and Todd Snook.

Donnie Murphy captured his fifth roadrunner win of the season.

Perigo wins first of year

Carmen Perigo Jr. raced to his first win of the year taking the win in Saturday night's Super Sportsman tour event at Trail-Way Speedway.

Perigo raced his way by both Ryan Rupp and J.R. Fry during the 20th lap and drove to the win in the 25-lap event.

Rupp, of Dillsburg, finished a season-best runner-up with Fry, of Summerdale, finishing third in the Daine Hursh-owned entry. Fourth went to early leader Leroy Martin with Carlisle's Frankie Herr coming from 12th to finish fifth.

Rookie claims first 358 win

York's Paul Hively III raced to a career first 358 Sprint car win Friday night at Trail-Way Speedway.

Hively, a 600 micro sprint graduate, led all the way and took the win over Billy Dietrich, Danny Dietrich, Dan Carrozza and Darren Schott. Carlisle's Frankie Herr dropped out and was paid for 23rd spot.

Craig Wagaman scored the win in the thundercar championship over Mark Shorb, Bob Stough, Allen Cullum and Scott Fisher.

Seth Kearchner was awarded the street stock win after actual winner Dan Furman failed a post-race inspection. Jerry Pownall, Doug Bennett, Ron Vance and David Haught were the top five finishers.

Six Path Valley winners

Mike Freet raced to the 305 Sprint car win Friday at Path Valley Speedway Park. Freet's win came over Mark Watkins, Tim Damiani, Michael Wagner and Wes Zimmerman.

Amanda Schlegal scored the win in the 270 Micro Sprint feature winning over Tom Tice, Heath Hehnly, Dusty Summers and Tim Mertz.

Hehnly captured the 600 Micro sprint car win over Enola's Jake Murphy, Jim Brookens, AJ Bast and Newville's Timmie Barrick. Carlisle's Greg Kone was 10th and Mechanicsburg's Chad Hough 19th.

Jesse Snyder won the 1000cc Sidewinder win over Donnie Hendershot, Devin Docherty, Gary Funck and Carlisle's Rohan Beasley.

Kevin Thomas scored the mini stock win over Tim Burkholder while John Rasp took the thundercar win over Denny Scofield.

Collett wins first career URC race

Justin Collett made his first URC Sprint series win a memorable one Saturday at Delaware International Speedway.

Collett started 15th in the field and raced his way through the field, taking the lead from Kramer Williamson with three laps remaining to score the big win in his No. 69 JEI Chassis.

Williamson, Scott Pursell, Jimmy Martin Jr. and Ed Aiken were the top five finishers.

Saturday night rainouts

Mother Nature wasn't kind to several area speedway's on Saturday night.

Port Royal Speedway made an attempt through several storms but eventually had to cancel the All-Star Sprint sanctioned Bob Weikert Memorial. That race will be made up on June 14.

Lincoln Speedway also had to wait out some early night storms and just when the track was ready to go, more rain hit the Pigeon Hills forcing the program to be cancelled. The makeup for the 410 Sprints and thundercars rained out on April 28 will be made up at a date to be announced.

Susquehanna Speedway also lost its Saturday night program of Sportsman, late models and street stocks.
