The driver of a truck that ran into a house on York Road this afternoon escaped with minor injuries, according to state police.
The driver, who police have not identified yet, was pulling a trailer with cattle in it when he ran into the corner of a house on the 1200 block of York Road in Monroe Township around 1 p.m.
No skid marks were evident on the road or lawn in front of the house. The truck itself vanished into the brick house, leaving only the cattle trailer sticking out of the front right corner of the house to bear witness that something untoward had happened.
Police said the owners of the small, one-story house were not at home at the time of the crash, and that it was unclear what caused the driver to hit the house. No one else was in the truck, police said, and the cattle also escaped without injury and were loaded onto another trailer to be taken away from the scene.
Numerous area fire and EMS companies reported to the scene, where workers labored for about half an hour to extricate the driver.
