Car enthusiasts from around the world are gearing up for the annual Fall Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet and Corral set to begin Wednesday.

Thousands of vendors plan to flock the Carlisle Fairgrounds loading up its 82 acres with anything and everything automobile.

Tens of thousands of visitors attend the event every year to buy, sell and trade parts, accessories, vehicles and “automobilia.”

“It's often said, ‘If you can't find it at Carlisle, you probably won't find it,'” says Brad Adcock, spokesman for Carlisle Events, organizer of the 34th annual show.

Visitors can choose from more than 1,800 vehicles in the Car Corral, making use of the banking and notary services on-grounds.

Gates open at 7 a.m. General admission is $9 daily Wednesday through Saturday and $5 on Sunday. Five-day passes are available for only $25. Children under 12 are admitted free.

This is the second year for the Fall Carlisle Collector Car Auction scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Carlisle Expo Center, one block from the Fairgrounds.

More than 250 automobiles from all eras and genres are to put up on the auction block, drawing buyers from as far away as the West Coast and Florida.

“The way consignments are rolling in, we are really excited about another great Fall Auction,” says Bill Miller III, senior manager for Carlisle Events overseeing the auction.

“You'll see luxury, muscle, speed and many fine examples of automotive beauty,” Miller adds. “We look forward to hundreds of bidders.”

Consigned vehicles include a 1971 Dodge Challenger convertible, a 1969 Chevrolet Nova and a 1957 DeSoto Adventurer.

Carlisle Events plays host to 10 collector car, truck and motorcycle events attracting over half a million visitors to the fairgrounds in Carlisle Borough and North Middleton Township.

Events include two large swap meets -- in the spring and fall -- along with speciality shows featuring Corvettes, Fords, GMs, Chryslers, sport compacts and imports.

Carlisle Events was founded in 1974 by friends Bill Miller and Chip Miller.
