Two injured in crash

Two people were taken to Carlisle Regional Medical Center with injuries after a crash Tuesday, according to Carlisle police.

June A. Bigler, 68, of the first block of Chestnut Street, Newville, was driving a green 1998 Ford Ranger south on Franklin Street when she failed to stop for the stop signs and blinking red light at the B Street intersection at 9:43 a.m., police say.

The Ranger hit the driver’s side of a maroon 2001 Chevrolet Impala, driven east on B Street by Russell E. Rowe, 76, of Main Street, Blain, police say. The Ranger spun 180 degrees and stopped facing north, and the Impala sideswiped a telephone pole at the southeast corner of the intersection, police say.

Both vehicles were towed, police say, and Rowe and his passenger, Jean L. Rowe, 73, of the same address, were taken to Carlisle Regional Medical Center, where they were treated and released.

Bigler was cited, police say.

Attempted burglary reported

A residence in the 3000 block of Crossroads School Road, West Pennsboro Township, was broken into sometime between 7 a.m. and noon Wednesday. According to state police, a back window was broken and the screen pushed in. Nothing was taken. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 249-2121.

Crash injures one

A woman was taken to Carlisle Regional Medical Center with neck pain after a crash Tuesday.

Carlisle police said Holly L. Ruby, 31, of the 1900 block of Reservoir Drive, Carlisle, was driving a blue 1999 Jeep north on South Spring Garden Street when she pulled out into the High Street intersection on a green light and was hit by Gene Robert Weiand, who was headed east on East High Street.

Ruby’s Jeep was towed, police say, and Weiand, who was driving a gold 2007 Ford, was cited for running a red light. Hospital officials said Ruby was treated and released.

Woman charged with assault

A Shippensburg woman was charged with simple assault and harassment after an incident at a residence in the 900 block of Roxbury Road about 2:28 p.m. Dec. 27.

State police say 22-year-old Krystie Lorraine Switalski assaulted a 44-year-old woman.

Man restrained woman, police say

State police at Chambersburg charged 43-year-old Robert Caldwell of Amberson with false imprisonment and unlawful restraint in connection with a New Year’s Day incident.

Police say Caldwell used force and threat of force to restrain a 35-year-old woman at their home in the 22000 block of Sherman Trail for 16 hours Jan. 1.

Vehicle hood theft reported

Dustin E. Beck, 22, of the 100 block of Clemens Drive, Dillsburg, and Corey J. Shultz, 20, of the 100 block of Walmar Manor, Dillsburg, were arrested after Upper Allen Township police investigated the theft of a hood from a vehicle parked in the 700 block of South Broad Street on Dec. 31.

The two confessed and led police to the stolen hood, police say.

Man injured in crash

David L. Bowermaster, 37, of Shippensburg, suffered moderate chest injuries Thursday in a crash in the 500 block of Walnut Bottom Road, Southampton Township, Cumberland County, which was reported to state police at Carlisle at 6:58 a.m.

Police say Bowermaster was driving a 1995 Ford F-350 and attempting to turn when he was rear-ended by a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Wanda L. Gallo, 57, of Shippensburg. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Shippensburg Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.

Teen injured in fight

Cory Adam Crockett, 19, of Newport, was in fair condition at Hershey Medical Center Thursday afternoon after having been flown there earlier that day. State police at Newport said he suffered possible head injuries in a fight in the 100 block of Legion Road in Oliver Township, Perry County, about 2 a.m.

Investigation is continuing, police say.
