Shippensburg Aquatic Club swimmers set three new records and turned in 47 personal best times during Central Penn Aquatic League Championship Weekend. In addition, four swimmers qualified for all-stars.

At the divisional competition, Kelli Bender set a new meet record of 2:08.67 in the girls’ 11-and-over 200 freestyle, and she a new team record of 59.27 in the girls’ 15-and-over 100 freestyle. Also, the 11-and-12-year-old girls’ medley relay team of Samantha Haskell, Devon Slattery, Paige Ezell and Morgan Goodhart set a new team record of 2:13.06.

Eight swimmers ages 10 and under turned in 13 personal best times, and 24 swimmers ages 11 and over turned in 34 personal best times.

Younger swimmers setting personal best marks were Courtney Lawson (50 breaststroke, 100 freestyle, 100 individual medley), Lacey Maclay (25 and 50 freestyles), Hannah Stahlman (50 freestyle, 50 backstroke), Ryzeson Maravich (25 breaststroke, 50 free), Quinn Slattery (50 breaststroke, 100 IM), Angela Piper (25 breaststroke) and KateLynne Hummel (100 IM).

Older swimmers with personal best times were Ashley Olson (200 and 100 freestyles, 200 IM), Chris Van Dixon (50 freestyle, 50 breaststroke, 100 IM), Chance Gray (50 and 100 freestyles, 100 breaststroke), Lindsey Stafford (50 and 100 freestyles, 100 breaststroke), Beth Jenkins (100 breaststroke, 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke), Hunter Forney (200 and 50 freestyles), Bender (200 and 100 freestyles), Goodhart (50 freestyle, 100 IM), Ezell (50 butterfly, 100 IM), Haskell (50 freestyle), Agusta Gray (50 backstroke), Renee Bumbaugh (100 IM), Sinea Slattery (50 freestyle), Emily Nye (50 freestyle), Jessi Howard (100 breaststroke), Devon Slattery (100 IM), Hayley Ream (50 butterfly) and Heidi Mooney (200 IM).

Bender, Ezell, Mooney and Ian Squires qualified for the all-star meet. Ezell qualified in the 50 butterfly (finished 11th) and the 100 IM (10th) and was an alternate in the medley relay. Bender qualified in the 200 freestyle (seventh) and was an alternate in the 100 freestyle. Squires qualified in the 50 freestyle (eighth) and was an alternate in both the 100 freestyle and the 100 butterfly, and Mooney qualified in the 200 IM (finished 12th).

In addition, Chris Van Dixon (50 breaststroke) and the girls’ 11-and-12-year-old medley relay team qualified as alternates.
