Local College Roundup: Dickinson lacrosse routs York
The Dickinson College men’s lacrosse team returned to the win column with a 10-8 victory over York College on Tuesday afternoon.
York struck first and the teams traded goals, ending the first period tied 3-3. The teams traded goals again before the Devils pulled in front
6-4 at the break and stretched the lead to 7-4 early in the third.
York tallied back to back goals to pull within one at the start of the fourth quarter (8-7). The Devils led 9-8 with 8:36 remaining until Derek Still scored a man-down goal to give the Devils a two-goal advantage with 7:23 on the clock.
The defense would hold from that point as the Devils improve to 5-1 on the season. York drops to 5-3 overall.
Red Devils baseball edged by Lebanon Valley
The Dickinson College baseball team suffered a 2-1 loss at Lebanon Valley on Tuesday.
The Red Devils slip to 5-10 overall. They host Widener in a doubleheader Saturday at noon.
Messiah baseball doubled up in Florida
The Messiah College baseball team defeated Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts by a 14-7 score Tuesay in Orlando, Florida. Sophomore Jon-Mike Richards knocked in a two-run home run.
Falcons softball shut out by Montclair State
The Messiah College softball team lost to Montclair State University by a 0-5 score and lost to Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham by a 7-2 score Tuesday in Florida. Freshman Rebekkah Funk recorded the only Falcons safe hit against Montclair State.
