Keith Dickey went 3-for-3 and scored a run to help Cedar Cliff hold off Central Dauphin East, 3-1, in Mid-Penn baseball action Thursday.

Dylan Zigmon, Michael Lebo and Eric Ort collected the Colts’ RBIs as winning pitcher Matt Wilson scattered five hits and struck out four in his complete-game.

Mechanicsburg 13, Bishop McDevitt 3 (5)

Ben Anderson went 3-for-3 with four RBIs and teammates Sam Burkholder and Jimmy Spanos shared two hits to lead Mechanicsburg to a 13-3, five-inning rout of visiting Bishop McDevitt on Thursday.

The Wildcats exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the third to make the score 11-3 and effectively wrap things up.

Donnie Coles led McDevitt on offense by going 3-for-3.

Colonial

Waynesboro 9, West Perry 6


Jimmy Baum scored twice and finished 3-for-4 but West Perry struggled to overcome an early 5-0 hole as visiting Waynesboro beat the Mustangs, 9-6.

Devin White and Zach Nyce had two hits each and pocketed two and three RBIs, respectively.

Northern 4, Susquenita 2

From the leadoff spot, Chad Hoover finished 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored as Northern beat visiting Susquenita, 4-2.

Sam Crater tossed the final two innings with three strikeouts for the save.

Mike Magaro paced the Blackhawks with a 3-for-4 effort.

Capital

Greencastle-Antrim 13, Trinity 6


Travis Stoey scored two runs and collected three singles in all three trips to the plate but Trinity dropped a 13-6 decision to visiting Greencastle-Antrim.

Mike Hnatuck and Mike Hychko shared two hits apiece to front Trinity’s 10-hit outburst.

Hnatuck was responsible for five earned runs and eights in taking the loss.

Camp Hill 12, Harrisburg 6

Scoring in every inning except the third, Camp Hill fought off Harrisburg, 12-6.

Matt Boyd was the star for the Lions, going 3-for-4 with a home run and tossing a complete-game with 13 strikeouts for the Lions.

Jim Rish and Colton Powden scored two times each.

Non-division

Central Dauphin 3, East Pennsboro 2


Shawn Myers collected a triple while teammate Keith Wheeler went 2-for-3 but visiting Central Dauphin knocked off East Pennsboro, 3-2.

The Rams broke a 1-1 tie with two runs in the top of the seventh and held on.

Bobby Lehman tossed 6 1/3 innings and was the hard-luck losing pitcher.

Lancaster Country Day 12, Bible Baptist 1 (5)


Sean Beam went 2-for-2 with a double and RBI to pace Bible Baptist on offense as the visiting Bobcats fell in five innings to Lancaster Country Day, 12-1.

Josh Loffredo went 1-for-3 and scored Bible Baptist’s only run.

Girls’ Soccer

Carlisle 4, Gettysburg 0


Cassie Armold scored a goal and picked up two assits as Carlisle notched its first win, a 4-0 whitewashing of visiting Gettysburg.

Taylor Suskie and Ashton Wiley scored the Thundering Herd’s two goals.

Cumberland Valley 5, Red Land 2

Kelly Pizzingrilli scored twice and Cumberland Valley held off visiting Red Land, 5-2.

Liz Kemery added a goal and an assist for the Eagles.

Central Dauphin 3, Cedar Cliff 2

Cortney Spertzal and Alex Gustin scored for Cedar Cliff but Central Dauphin prevailed, 3-2.

Allie Snitger added an assist and keeper Janelle Hammond made two saves for Cedar Cliff.

Susquehanna Twp. 4, Susquenita 0

Becky Sowers scored two goals and teammate Laura Reichard contributed a goal and an assist to lead visiting Susquehanna Twp. to a 4-0 whitewash of Susquenita.

In net for the Blackhawks, Heather Holmes made eight saves while teammate Katie Bentzel stopped two.

Camp Hill 6, West Perry 0

Molly Gilroy scored two goals while teammate Kara Hoy added a pair of tallies and three assists to lead Camp Hill to an easy 6-0 win over West Perry.

Becky Wilbert made eight saves for the Mustangs.

Middletown 3, Northern 1

Shannon Casey scored in the 50th minute but that was all Northern could muster as Middletown snared a 3-1 win over the Polar Bears.

Brittany Adams and Kimmy Myers shared 10 saves for Northern.

Boiling Springs 2, James Buchanan 0

Katelyn Ernst scored in the first half and Summer Wert added a goal in the second to lift Boiling Springs past James Buchanan, 2-0.

Carrie Matter made three saves to preserve the shutout.

East Pennsboro 4, Dover 1

Sam Toth scored East Pennsboro’s second goal and added a second-half assist to power the Panthers past Dover, 4-1.

Katie Schopman scored for East Penn 2:28 into the game.

Trish Grob finished the Eagles off late in the second half.

Trinity 3, Bishop McDevitt 2 (2 OT)

Alicia Mirando scored in the second overtime to help Trinity bounce Bishop McDevitt, 3-2.

Katie Lenz and Rachel Holt added goals for the Shamrocks, who got three saves from Heather Shultz.

Boys’ Tennis

Cedar Cliff 4, Mechanicsburg 3


Matt Miller won a tough 6-4, 6-7, 6-1 win over Scott Bronder in No. 1 singles action and Cedar Cliff slipped by Mechanicsburg, 4-3.

Wade Caldwell was the other singles winner for the Colts as he defeated Evan Singer 6-4, 7-5.

Mechanicsburg singles winners were Tyler Matisse, who beat Joey Fortenbaugh 6-2, 6-2 and Tyler Miller’s 7-5, 6-1 win over Kevin Ortenzio.

The Colts took two of three in doubles as Andrew Rearick/Brady Alford beat Rob Staiger/Max MacGregor 6-4, 6-0 while Alex Martinelli/Zach Ferge downed Lee Kennedy-Sheaffer/Kevin Clancy 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Mechanicsburg took the No. 1 doubles match as Bronder/Matisse beat Miller/Fortenbaugh 6-3, 6-2.

Northern 5, East Pennsboro 2

B.J. Bush disposed of Andrew Decker 6-2, 6-3 in No. 1 singles action as Northern beat East Pennsboro, 5-2.

Sam Calabria beat Marc Wagner 6-2, 6-1 and Derrick Root beat Andrew Chan 6-0, 6-1 to round out the Northern singles winners.

East Penn’s Brice Morey beat Grant Cole 4-6, 6-0, 6-2 and Dante Ngo beat Jared Meyer 7-5, 6-2 to pace the Pantthers’ singles.

Northern swept doubles as Bush/Cole beat Decker/Wagner 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 and Calabria/Kyle Schwille slipped by Morey/Ngo 6-4, 7-6 (8-6).

Trinity 4, Camp Hill 3

Nick Shadowen cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Dillon Golden in No. 1 singles to help Trinity down Camp Hill, 4-3.

Other singles winners for the Shamrocks were Greg Hempt’s 6-7 (2-7), 6-0, 6-2 win over Casey McCoy and Mike Diminic’s 6-3, 6-0 win over Taylor Berrian.

Camp Hill singles winners were John Cummings, who beat Andy Stokes 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 and Andrew Green, who beat Matt Tolland 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).

Shadowen/Tolland beat Golden/McCoy 6-1, 6-0 while Cummings/Green downed Hempt/Diminic 8-7 (7-5).

Bishop McDevitt 6, Susquenita 1

Matt Adams/Evgeny Matigullin took an 8-4 win over Vince Rozman/Justin Osmolinski in No. 1 doubles but Bishop McDevitt beat Susquenita, 6-1.

McDevitt’s Mike Biacchi/Kyle Bretz took a 9-7 win over Jahon Schardt/Chad Meyer to round out doubles actions.

The Crusaders swept singles as Rozman beat Adams 6-0, 6-0; Devin Bolton beat John Schardt 6-0, 6-1; Tyler Bobitz downed Matigullin 6-1, 6-2; Pat Gregorits beat Meyer 6-2, 6-2 and Kevin Ellison knocked off Steve Davidson 6-1, 6-2.

Cumberland Valley 7, Carlisle 0

Anaj Desai beat Nick Bloom 6-0, 6-1 in No. 1 singles action to help Cumberland Valley beat Carlisle 7-0.

CV swept singles as Robert Schrader beat Luke Wronski 6-3, 6-2; Andrew Grossman beat Daniel Mootz 6-1, 6-0 and Steven Valencic beat Mike Balzotti 6-1, 6-4.

In doubles, the Eagles’ Desai/Schrader beat Bloom/Wronski 8-0; David Washburn/Dylan Chindo beat Zach Baldwin-Way/Colin Gelbaugh 6-1, 6-2 and Zach Eskin/Tyler Bixler downed John Estes/Pablo Torres 6-0, 6-0.

Boys’ Volleyball

Cumberland Valley 3, Cedar Cliff 1


Via scores of 25-12, 25-18, 19-25 and 25-17 Cumberland Valley beat Cedar Cliff, 3-1.

No other details were available.

Carlisle 3, Chambersburg 0

Ed Benish picked up 34 assists and teammate Kyle Adams added 11 kills as Carlisle downed Chambersburg 3-0 (30-28, 25-17, 25-17).

Justin Beachy picked up 23 digs and Dan Hoy notched nine kills for the Thundering Herd, who improved to 6-1.

Eric Love finished with eight kills and two blocks.

Track and Field

Trinity girls 118, Mechanicsburg 32


Alex Oszustowicz took first in the triple jump, shot put and javelin to help Trinity girls down Mechanicsburg, 118-32.

Teammate Erin Guy won the 100 dahs and the long jump.

Sarah Sulon took first in the 1600 run for Mechanicsburg.

Trinity boys 104, Mechanicsburg 44

Christian Kuntz won the 100 dash, 200 dash and the long jump as Trinity boys beat Mechanicsburg, 104-44.

Tylor McElhenie won the 100 and 300 hurdles to pace the Wildcats.

Jacob Brenza won the shot put and discus events for Mechanicsburg.

Softball

Carlisle 9, Cumberland Valley 0


Once again the Carlisle Thundering Herd broke out the big bats as Chelsea Maurice connected on a grand slam and Kandi Glenn hit a solo shot. both in the fourth inning of a 9-0 victory over Cumberland Valley.

Amber Holsopple picked up her second victory of the week striking out eight and scattering four hits over seven innings of work. She did not walk a batter.

Caitlin Kramer took the loss and allowed eight runs and nine hits.

She struck out just one and walked one.

Hershey 5, Mechanicsburg 3

Shelby Cassel and Kaitlin Smith each had a hit and scored a run, but Mechanicsburg let a 3-0 lead slip away in losing to Hershey 5-3.

Hershey’s Nikki Kennedy tripled and homered in the victory.

Susquenita 13, Northern 1, five innings

Val Maguire went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and struck out six over five innings as Susquenita defeated Northern 13-1 in a shortened contest.

Justina Malehorn drove in three runs while Maguire, Missy Graybill and Ashley Hazelton added two RBI each. Marlee Camplese went 2-for-2 for the Polar Bears who remained winless on the season.

Greencastle 9, Trinity 1

Caroline Lauer had two hits, but Greencastle starter Autumn Appleby struck out 10 and limited the Shamrocks offense to just five hits as Greencastle defeated Trinity 9-1.

Harrisburg 15, Camp Hill 4

Jess Daily went 2-for-3 with two runs scored but Harrisburg rallied from a 3-1 deficit to score 11 runs in the third shocking Camp Hill 15-4.
