Devils fall in ECAC final

The Dickinson College women’s lacrosse team fell in the championship game of the ECAC Metro/South Region Tournament to Stevens 22-16 on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils finish the season 12-6.

Junior Amy Jennings set the school record for assists in a season on Saturday, and added to that mark with four more Sunday. She tallied 33 this season, erasing the old mark of 27.

Alysa Crellin scored four goals and controlled eight draws on the day. First-year player Sunnie Ko scored four goals and handed out an assist.

Dana Bunting chipped in with a goal and three assists. She also eclipsed the previous single season assist mark, finishing with 29 this spring.

First-year goaltender Jessie Clark made 13 saves and controlled five ground balls in the Devil cage.

The teams traded goals early before Stevens went on a 4-0 run to take a 7-3 lead with 15:58 remaining in the half.

The Devils cut the deficit to 7-6 and trailed 9-8 until the Ducks struck with 27 seconds on the clock to lead 10-8 at halftime.

Stevens outscored the Devils 12-8 in the second half for the final of 22-16.

The ECAC playoff appearance was the Dickinson’s third straight post-conference playoff appearance.
