Here are Saturday's Sentinel police reports:

Police probe Lurgan shooting

Police say an investigation into a shooting incident in Lurgan Township Wednesday could be complete by Tuesday.

Cpl. Paul McMullen of state police at Chambersburg says a woman was injured in the incident, but her injuries were not inflicted by a bullet. The incident, which took place in an unidentified area of Roxbury Road, poses no immediate threat to the general public, McMullen says.

Police are guarding details of the incident because no charges have been filed, McMullen says, and police believe additional disclosure could hamper their investigation.

State police say they are working with officials in the Franklin County District Attorney’s office to resolve the investigation, and a decision whether to file criminal charges should be made by Tuesday.

According to McMullen “intent has yet to be established,” and the shooting could turn out to be a accident caused by “carelessness or negligence.”

“We’ve dedicated a lot of time, manpower and expertise to this investigation,” McMullen says. “It could turn out to be a lot less serious than some think.”

Prowler alert issued in Silver Spring

The Silver Spring Township Police Department has been investigating an ongoing series of prowler complaints, according to Police Chief Jim Sadler.

The department believes the culprit, described as a white male, between 5-foot-7 and 6 feet tall, weighing 150-175 pounds, is a voyeur.

As a precautionary measure, the police are asking all residents to exercise caution. They should make sure of their surroundings, secure windows and doors and close blinds at night, police said.

The incidents have been happening for about the past two years, Sadler said, but are sporadic: “We could get two a week and then go two weeks and not hear anything.”

Most of the complaints involve a man peering into windows. He has been spotted in the following developments: Mulberry Crossing, Walnut Point Phase I and II, Trindle Springs, Silver Meadows, Stone Crest, North Road, South Road, Rife Drive and Longview Drive.

So far, Sadler said, numerous incidents have been reported to police but usually only days later, after the witness has talked to a neighbor who urges him or her to call.
