Orrstown Bank has filed mortgage foreclosures against Rufe Chevrolet Inc. to the tune of $2 million.

In papers filed at Cumberland County Courthouse on April 30, the bank said the dealership took out one mortgage in Dec. 2000 and another in March 2006. Since November 2006 it has not made monthly payments on either mortgage and is now in default, court papers said.

The bank is seeking just over $2 million, plus interest of about $380 per day.

The dealership, located on a 10-acre site with a 36,000-sqare-foot building at 1601 Ritner Highway in Carlisle for the last 28 years, had been in business for six decades when it held a “complete liquidation” auction in mid April.

Comment from dealership president and owner Earl L. Schorpp II was not available by deadline.
