Pa. leads Big 33 24-7 at end of third quarter
Pennsylvania leads Ohio 24-7 at the end of the first half in this year's Big 33 game.
Pittsburgh Central Catholic quarterback Tino Sunseri threw a pair of touchdown passes -- a 10-yarder to Aliquippa's Jonathan Baldwin and a 6-yarder to Parkland's Cameron Sadler -- in the first quarter. Manheim Twp. kicker David Soldner connected on a 39-yard field goal in the second quarter, and Bishop McDevitt running back Mike Jones punched in a 3-yard touchdown run.
Ohio managed to move the ball inside the Pa. 10-yard line in the final two minutes of the first half, but Ohio quarterback Zac Dysert's pass attempt with three seconds left on fourth down from the 3-yard line was broken up in the end zone.
Dysert hit his stride in the third quarter, leading his team down the field and ultimately throwing a touchdown pass to teammate Michael Shaw. At the close of the third, Ohio was once again knocking on the door with the ball on the Pa. 16.
The Pa. defense has six sacks, a fumble recovery, two pass deflections, a blocked field goal attempt and a blocked punt.
