11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - 911 Tours/Emergency Displays at the intersection of Allen Road and Ritner Highway

3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. - Rotary Roast Beef Dinner at Lamberton Middle School’s cafeteria. A donation of $7.50 to the rotary is required.

6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. - Opening Ceremonies in Veterans Square.

7:00 p.m. - Parade at Hanover Street/Veterans Square

8:00 p.m. - Ice Cream Social in Veterans Square

8:00 p.m. - Summerfair Concert “Cheap Sneakers” at Veterans Square. The rain site will be the Carlisle Theatre.

Friday, July 4, 2008

8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. - Miniature Golf Tournament at Duffy’s Miniature Golf Course, 1454 Harrisburg Pike.

9:00 a.m - Around the Town Bike Ride at Allison United Methodist Church parking lot. Everyone must wear helmets.

9:00 to 10:30 a.m. - Anything Floats Race Craft Inspection at Children’s Lake in Boiling Springs (next to the Hump Back Bridge)

11:00 a.m. - Anything Floats Races at Children’s Lake.

5:00 p.m. - Shakespeare In The Park at Thornwald Park

7:00 a.m. - 10K Run Registration on Rush Campus at Dickinson College

7:30 a.m. - Children’s Fishing Derby Registration at Letort Park for children ages 4 to 12.

8:00 a.m. - 10K Run at Dickinson College

8:00 a.m. to 10: 00 a.m. - Children’s Fishing Derby at Letort Park. Fish will be provided by Yellow Breeches Anglers & Conservation.

10:00 a.m. to Noon - Children’s Art Activity on Rush Campus at Dickinson College.

8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. - Mini-Festival/Craft Show/Food Concessions on Rush Campus at Dickinson College.

10:00 a.m. to Noon - Dog Show

11:00 a.m. to Noon. - Magician, Nathan Kepner

1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. - Carlisle Town Band

5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. - Boiling Springs Open Pool Night at the Boiling Springs Pool at 2 Mountain Road

6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. - Carlisle Open Pool Night at the Carlisle Community Pool at 1236 Franklin St.

10:00 a.m. to Noon - Peanut Carnival at Letort Park for children ages 3-10

1:00/2:00/3:00 p.m. - Old Prison Tours at the Old Prison on East High Street

6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. - Jim Thorpe Track Meet at the Ken Millen Stadium at the Carlisle Area High School. Parents and legal guardians must sign waivers for all minors.

7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. - Swing Dance Lessons and Open Swing Dancing at The Green Door at 14 E. North St.

7:00 p.m. - Summerfair Musical at McGowan Auditorium at the Carlisle Area High School

6:00 p.m. - All Star Softball Game at LeTort Park

8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. - Candlelight Walking Tours of Carlisle by Historic Carlisle, Inc. Meet at the square by the church. Tours leave at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The Rain date for the tours will be on Tuesday, July 8, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
