DCA to move into new home downtown
The Downtown Carlisle Association has moved from its office in the first block of East High Street and relocated around the corner to 4 Irvine Row.
“We’re thrilled. It gives us more space,” explained Main Street manager Karen Barone.
The DCA is a community based, nonprofit organization that works to preserve the historical heritage of Carlisle’s downtown and keep it economically viable and attractive. It’s also part of the national Main Street program and is the oldest continuously running Main Street organization in the state.
Since 1981, The Downtown Carlisle Association has been working through education, training, strategic partnerships and advocacy efforts to revitalize and maintain the quality of life in Downtown Carlisle.
Barone said DCA officials had been looking for a new home for about two years and wanted to remain downtown.
“We needed to be close to the square and first-floor accessible,” Barone explained. “This is a great place. It really meets our needs.”
