A 1995 Dodge Intrepid driven by a 25-year-old Shippensburg resident rolled into a creek and landed on its roof Thursday in Southampton Township, Franklin County, according to state police at Chambersburg.

Derek Allen Nichols was in the 4000 block of McClays Mill Road, headed west at 10:17 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve, hitting a stone bridge abutment, traveling down an embankment and rolling into the creek, police said.

Investigation continues, police said. No information on Nichols’ condition was available.
