Here are Tuesday's Sentinel police reports:

Carlisle man charged with terroristic threats

Keith E. Brough was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault domestic violence, harassment and disorderly after a 33-year-old woman said he threatened to kill her Saturday.

Carlisle police were called to a home in the first block of East Penn Street at 3:58 p.m. and met the woman, who said Brough, 38, of Carlisle, showed up at her home and, while they were outside talking, grabbed her around the throat and pinned her in a corner, police said.

The woman reported Brough told her today was her last day and he was going to kill her, police said, then let her go. She ran into her house and locked the door. The woman is in good condition, police said, and Brough was arrested later.

Carlisle bicycle reported stolen

A woman’s red Schwinn 18-speed bicycle was reported stolen from a home on Gobin Drive, according to Carlisle police.

The date and time of the theft are unknown, police said, but the bike had been kept in the car port of her home. The bike had a black mirror on the left handlebar and a red canvas bag attached to the frame that held a water bottle, police said.

The bike is worth about $40, police said, and they ask anyone with information about the theft to call 243-5252.

Police probe attempted trespasses

Carlisle police are investigating an attempted criminal trespass at Dialysis Services of Pennsylvania, 101 Noble Boulevard.

The incident happened between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday, police said, noting that nothing was taken.

Police are also investigating a similar attempt that happened about 3 a.m. Friday at a home in the first block of North West Street, in which nothing was taken. Police ask anyone with information about the incidents to call 243-5252.

Carlisle man faces hit-and-run charges

Jeffrey H. Black was arrested about 6 p.m. Friday on hit-and-run charges stemming from a crash that happened about 8 p.m. Aug. 2 in the 400 block of Spring Road, according to Carlisle police.

Black, age unavailable, lives in the 100 block of North Pitt Street, police said, and the 47-year-old victim was in good condition.

Five injured in Perry crash

Five people received minor or moderate injuries in a Perry County crash Friday, according to state police at Newport.

A 16-year-old boy from Liverpool was driving a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice when he pulled in front of a 2005 Hyundai Elantra driven by Shasta L. Stine, 23, of Mechanicsburg, police said. The crash happened at 11:34 a.m. in Buffalo Township at the intersection of Route 11 and Route 34, police said, and each person involved wore a seat belt.

The driver of the Caprice and his passengers -- Lee A. Teats, 40, of Liverpool, an 11-year-old girl from Liverpool and a 12-year-old girl from Selinsgrove -- all received minor injuries, police said.

Stine was taken to Harrisburg Hospital with moderate injuries. The boy was charged with a traffic violation, police said.

Woman injured in crash

Jerri Jones was taken to Carlisle Regional Medical Center with injuries following a crash in the 1600 block of Spring Road Monday, according to North Middleton Township police.

Jones, 68, was driving a 2007 Chevy Malibu north when police said she took her eyes off the road and hit a 1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT that was stopped for traffic at 2:37 p.m.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, 26-year-old Derek Wetzel, was not hurt, police said.

Jones’ vehicle was towed, police said, and Carlisle and North Middleton fire departments and fire police assisted at the scene.

No further information was available by press time this morning.

Infractions abounded at truck show, police say

Middlesex Township police reported Monday that numerous calls directly related to attendance at the Carlisle All-Truck Nationals kept them busy over the weekend.

Officers made three DUI arrests, police said, along with 10 for underage drinking, four for public drunkenness and three for disorderly conduct.

Officers also issued about 50 traffic citations for incidents ranging from equipment violations to drivers lowering the air suspension on their trucks and dragging the back of their vehicles on the road, throwing sparks, police said.

Police also observed a “rolling keg party” in which people were drinking from a keg of beer in the back of a pickup truck as it was being driven down the highway.

A call to Carlisle Events officials for comment Monday was not returned by deadline Tuesday.

License plate stolen in North Middleton

The license plate was reported stolen from a 1995 Acura Integra on Army Drive Monday, according to North Middleton Township police. The registration number is GYG-8211, police said.

Red Cross reports scam letter

Cumberland County Red Cross warns that a letter some individuals have reported receiving is a scam.

Supposedly from a company called ESO*WORLD, the letters say the recipient owes $19.50 for a donation that someone made to Red Cross on their behalf, Red Cross says.

Sherrie L. Davis, executive director of the county organization, said the organization has gotten “quite a few” calls about the letters and is recommending that recipients ignore them.

“It’s such a shame,” Davis said Tuesday, noting that the Red Cross is not happy that someone is using its name and causing confusion among people who are getting the scam letters.
