A Newville man was taken into custody Friday morning for his alleged role in an Aug. 26 shots-fired incident that occurred in the public housing parking lot in the 300 block of North Bedford Street.

Carlisle police said Jason Hockley, 18, was arrested without incident at a residence in the Bloserville area at 7:40 a.m. by the U.S. Marshal Service.

He was later arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Paula Correal on charges of aggravated and simple assault, carrying a firearm without a license, terroristic threats and reckless endangering.

He was remanded to Cumberland County Prison on $5,000 bail.

Carlisle police are still investigating the incident, but said Hockley is believed to have fired a handgun after a dispute with another man.

Those with information are asked to call Carlisle police at 243-5252.
