Carlisle area dogs have something new to wag about.

The borough parks and recreation board has approved the concept of locating a dog park on 2.5 acres along Royer Road.

Council could consider the recommendation at its next regular monthly meeting scheduled for next Thursday.

The proposed park is located on the former PP&L tract just west of the borough and adjacent to Interstate 81.

The Carlisle Area Dog Parks Association wants to develop a place for people to exercise and play with unleashed dogs.
