No charges have been filed in connection with Tuesday’s fatal crash in Monroe Township, according to state police at Carlisle.

“The accident’s going to have to be reconstructed,” Corp. Daniel Diehl said Thursday morning, indicating it would likely be a while before a determination is made on charges.

The department and Cumberland County Coroner Mike Norris said Jennifer L. Vigil, 31, of County Line Road, York Springs, was pronounced dead at the scene of an 8:38 a.m. crash in the 1000 block of York Road.

Authorities said her husband, Robert J. Vigil, 34, was driving her and their two daughters, ages 6 weeks and 3 years, and was stopped waiting to turn when the vehicle was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Lauren E. Eramo, 20, of Dillsburg, and then hit by on the passenger side by another vehicle driven by Darwin D. Kell, 67, of Carlisle.

The other two drivers were not injured, police said, and at last report Robert Vigil and the infant were in fair and good condition, respectively, at Hershey Medical Center, with the 3-year-old having been treated and released.

Vigil was driving a 1999 Nissan Altima north on York Road and waiting for southbound traffic to clear so he could enter the parking lot of Mountain Side Preschool when Eramo’s 2002 Volkswagen Beetle hit the Altima from the back, causing it to travel into the southbound lane, police said.

Kell's 1995 Jeep Cherokee then hit the passenger side of the Altima, police said.

All adults involved wore seat belts, police said, and the two girls were in child safety seats.
