Mechanicsburg hires borough manager
Mechanicsburg Borough Council voted Tuesday night in a special meeting to authorize the hiring of a new manager.
Charlie Ryder, borough council vice president, said the vote to hire Patrick Dennis, of York, was unanimous.
“He is young and enthusiastic,” Ryder said of the new hire, which will not be made official until Dennis agrees to the municipality’s terms. “He is very outgoing and we think he will be a good fit for the borough. We had many, many candidates and he was the best one we found.”
Dennis’ authorized salary as borough manager is $55,000 annually.
Roger Ciecierski, council member, said “he seems like an energetic young man who I think is going to bring some new ideas to the borough. He’s a local guy, he has some vested interest in the area.”
