2003 Mechanicsburg grad dies in D.C.

A 2003 graduate of Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School was killed Sunday in Washington, D.C.
Ian M. Wolfe, 24, graduated from Virginia Tech in 2007 and became a resident of Bethesda, Md., according to information supplied by law enforcement officials and an obituatary notice.
United States Park Police reported they were called at 11:20 p.m. Sunday. Investigation revealed that Wolfe was riding a bicycle in a crosswalk toward the Tidal Basin Parking Lot when he was struck by a vehicle, police said.
Police noted that the driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. No charges have been filed against the driver of the vehicle, police said.
Wolfe was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said. The eastbound lanes of the road were closed for about four hours for crash reconstruction, police said.
