Shippensburg inched closer to at least a share of the Colonial Division title with a 3-0 win over Susquenita Thursday in boys’ soccer.

The victory sets up a showdown with East Pennsboro Saturday night for the title.

But on Thursday, Van Horton, James Kiama, and David Gerlach all found the back of the net for the Greyhounds. Shippensburg cranked out 20 shots to Susquenita’s two.

East Pennsboro 2, Boiling Springs 0

East Pennsboro also inched toward a Colonial Division title with a 2-0 win over Boiling Springs.

Colin McKenna put the Panthers up early on an assist fron Ben Jackson. Jared Latchford later scored on a pass from Spencer Conrad. East Penn (10-3-1) hosts Shippensburg Saturday.

Red Land 2, CD East 1

Red Land edged CD East 2-1 Thursday. The Panthers took the early lead, but Red Land answered with two scores from Brandon Arvey.

The Patriots held the Panthers to just four shots for the day.

Camp Hill 8, Greencastle 0

Camp Hill cruised 8-0 Thursday over Greencastle. Ian Nisley finished with the hat trick, while Nick Kline, Ben Danowitz, Neil Gallagher, Kyle Matherine and Brad Smith also scored.

The Lions pumped out 32 shots on goal.

Field Hockey

Red Land 1, Camp Hill 0 (overtime)

Red Land locked up a spot in the postseason with a 1-0 overtime win over Camp Hill on Thursday in field hockey.

In the overtime period, Michelle Guldner scored on her team’s only shot of the game.

Cumberland Valley 4, CD East 0

Cumberland Valley shut out CD East 4-0 in field hockey Thursday to improve to 7-6-3 overall.

Alyson Tamanini opened up the scoring and was followed by two scores from Ashley Taylor and another by Julie Alspaugh.

Girls’ Volleyball

Cedar Cliff 3, Hershey 0

Cedar Cliff blanked Hershey 3-0 Thursday in girls’ volleyball.

Katie Lake racked up 12 kills, while Ashley Lavender had nine kills. Megan Harvey finished with eight aces.

Cedar Cliff is now 12-3 overall.

Chambersburg 3, Carlisle 2

Carlisle was ousted by Chambersburg Thursday in a match that went to five games. Game scores were 25-22, 25-18, 23-25, 17-25, 16-14.

Chelsey Bowser had 18 kills, two aces, and 11 digs, while teammate Heather Bowman had nine kills and 16 digs. Allie Mosser finished with 31 assists and 10 digs and Arielle Williamson recorded 20 digs. Carlisle falls to 8-4 overall.

Big Spring 3,

Northern 1

Big Spring downed Northern 3-1 with game scores of 25-18, 20-25, 25-18, and 25-17.

Heather Stitt had 19 digs while Brandy Lautsbaugh had 12 kills and 13 digs.

Mechanicsburg 3,

Shippensburg 1

Mechanicsburg defeated Shippensburg 3-1 with game scores of 25-20, 25-21, 23-25, and 25-18.

For Shippensburg, Amy Rosenberry finished with 16 digs, while Lauren Russell had 11 kills and four blocks.

Red Land 3, Middletown 1

Red Land beat out Middletown 3-1 to improve to 6-7 overall.

Game scores were 25-19, 25-23, 17-25, 25-22. Kristen Manzo finished the match with 16 assists and seven digs, while Casey June had six kills and nine aces.

Trinity 3,

Harrisburg 1

Trinity improved to 10-4 overall with a 3-1 win over Harrisburg.

Game scores were 21-25, 25-11, 25-4, 28-26.

Maureen Reilly finished with 15 aces and three kills, while Shannon Sudak had 11 assists.
