Light snow delays schools in southwestern Pa. today
ERIE, Pa. (AP) — Snow news is good news and bad news in western Pennsylvania.
The National Weather Service has lifted a lake effect snow warning for Erie and surrounding areas in northwestern Pennsylvania. There will still be light snow on Tuesday, but no more than two inches over an area that saw a foot or more of snow fall Sunday night into Monday.
In southwestern Pennsylvania, a winter weather advisory has prompted several mostly rural school districts to delay classes by two hours.
Two to four inches of snow has fallen near the Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Somerset County, about 65 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. Lesser amounts are forecast in lower elevations Tuesday.
Icy conditions in some spots have been slowing the morning commute in and around Pittsburgh.
