Messiah field hockey to play in Final Four this weekend
After Sunday’s 2-1 double overtime victory over Rowan University, the Messiah College field hockey team is heading to its 12th Div. III Final Four in the program’s history this weekend on the campus of Ursinus College.
The Falcons will take on Tufts University on Saturday at 11 a.m., while Bowdoin faces Ursinus on the other semifinal game at 2 p.m.
The winners will play for the national championship on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Tufts, which is out of Massachusetts, is 18-1 and led up front by Tamara Brown and Amanda Russo with a combined 35 goals.
Messiah, which boasts four local players in Kourtney Ehly (Boiling Springs), Nikki Bailey (West Perry), Amanda Hammaker (Susquenita), and Ashley Mowery (Northern), is led by Bailey, who has 18 goals for the Falcons this season.
