Local business briefs: Mid Penn Bancorp declares quarterly cash dividend

Mid Penn Bancorp Inc. recently declared a quarterly cash dividend of 20 cents per share, payable Monday, Nov. 24, to shareholders of record as of Nov. 5. Mid Penn Bancorp Inc. completed the transfer of its common stock listing from the American Stock Exchange to the NASDAQ Stock Market and began trading on NASDAQ on Oct. 21 under its current symbol, MPB. The bank is celebrating its 140th anniversary.

Birthright of Carlisle promotes employee

Birthright of Carlisle Inc., a crisis pregnancy resource and support center, promoted Carol Culbertson of Carlisle to the position of associate director. Culbertson served as a volunteer and coordinator of donor acknowledgements prior to her promotion.

Totem Pole Playhouse relocates administrative offices

Totem Pole Playhouse has relocated its administrative offices from the Capitol Theatre in downtown Chambersburg to Caledonia State Park. The entire operation of the theater is now located at one site, allowing the production staff in the summer to work closely with the administrative staff. All design and construction was performed by local contractors.

Ed Bidelspach joins F&M Trust team

Ed Bidelspach recently joined F&M Trust as assistant vice president, financial services officer and community office manager. While his office is located at the Ritner Highway office, he will also work with customers at the Hanover Street offices. Bidelspach is a graduate of Big Spring High School.

Prudential Homesale Services Group hires sales associate

Jeremiah Negley joined Prudential Homesale Services Group as a full-time sales associate in the Carlisle office. Negley is a graduate of Carlisle High School and is the son of Tricia Negley, who is also a full-time sales associate in the Carlisle office.

Mechanicsburg Courtyard Marriot earns Gold Award

The staff at the Mechanicsburg Courtyard Marriot received a Gold Award for guest service from Courtyard by Marriot. The hotel also achieved high scores on guest survey results. The Gold Award recognizes guest satisfaction ratings between 91 and 93 percent.

Keystruct to build addition at Montessori Academy

Keystruct Construction is joining forces with Montessori Academy in Lancaster to build a 6,394 square foot single-story class room addition. The students will be documenting the progress of the construction as a learning experience.

Harrisburg Chamber helps purchase Newville farmland

Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC recently provided financing to Duane and Michelle Ruth to purchase 142 acres of farmland in Upper Frankford Township, Newville, for growing hay, soybeans and wheat. The land contains 120 tillable acres and has been in the Ruth family for 53 years.

Harsco to build grandstand seating at British Open Golf Championship

Harsco recently announced that it secured a multi-year award to serve as the exclusive supplier of grandstand seating and supports for the British Open Golf Championships through the next four years. Harsco’s award continues a 20-year relationship with one of the most distinguished events in major championships golf.

Heating association donates to America Trauma Society

The Greater Harrisburg Oil Heat Association, based in Mechanicsburg, presented the American Trauma Society Pennsylvania Division with a $500 donation in memory of the late Neal Curry, former director and president of the company. Curry was an avid supporter of the society’s mission to reduce suffering, disability and death due to trauma.

Lutheran Home Care & Hospice recognizes dedicated employees

Lutheran Home Care & Hospice Inc. recently recognized four employees who have worked a combined total of 100 years at the agency. Mary Ann Shank, human resources specialist, has served for 30 years, since the inception of the agency. Liz Keller, client accounts manager, and Sharon Monn, admission care nurse, both have served the agency for 25 years. Debbie Shilling, hospice care supervisor, has served for 20 years.

Totem Pole Playhouse hires director of marketing

Totem Pole Playhouse recently hired Sue McMurtray as director of marketing. For the past 24 years, McMurtray has served as managing director with Thunderbird Ltd., the production company at the summer theater. During the summer months, she will continue her responsibilities as managing director for the theater.
