Lower Mifflin man accused of throwing kitchen knife

William Eugene Johnson, 27, of the first block of Peachy Ann Drive in Lower Mifflin Township, was arrested on Sunday, Nov. 23, after a 30-year-old woman reported that he had thrown a large kitchen knife at her, according to state police at Carlisle. The knife missed the woman and no injuries were reported.

The incident happened at 7:50 p.m. in the home where both Johnson and the woman live. They were engaged in an escalating verbal argument, police said. Johnson was found to be highly intoxicated and wanted on several warrants, police said.

He was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct and lodged in Cumberland County Prison on $25,000 bail, police said.


Carlisle man accused of molesting child

Wayne Robert Chronister, 45, of Carlisle was charged with two counts each of aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault following an investigation of incidents involving a 3-year-old girl in November 2006, according to state police at Carlisle.

Investigation began in 2006, police said, and Chronister, admitted to touching the child in a sexual manner on two occasions that month in South Middleton Township.




Counterfeit $20 turns up at toll booth

Someone passed a counterfeit $20 to pay a Pennsylvania Turnpike toll on Nov. 20, according to state police at Newville.

The incident happened about 5 a.m. in the fifth lane of the Middlesex Township interchange, police said.




Debit card number stolen

A debit card number belonging to a Shermans Dale man has been stolen, according to state police at Newport.

The number was used on the Internet between 11:01 and 11:21 p.m. Nov. 21 to purchase poker chips, police said.

Pennies, cell phone stolen in Carlisle

Approximately 75 pennies and a black Nokia cell phone with a smiley face on it were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 500 block of North Bedford Street between 12:10 and 8 a.m. Nov. 24, according to Carlisle police.

Police ask anyone with information about the theft to call 243-5252.




Debit card theft reported in Carlisle

Someone used a stolen ATM debit card to withdraw $200 from an ATM in a convenience store in the 100 block of North Hanover Street on Nov. 21, according to Carlisle police.

Jug filled with change stolen

A 5-gallon water jug containing between $600 and $700 in change and small bills was stolen in the 100 block of North West Street recently, according to Carlisle police.

The owner told police on Nov. 24 that the jug must have been stolen over the weekend, police said. Police ask anyone with information about the theft to call 243-5252.




Bike stolen in Perry County

A red 18-speed Huffy Stonemountain II bicycle was stolen from a Perry County property between 6 p.m. Nov. 18 and 12:30 p.m. Nov. 19, according to state police at Newport. The theft happened in the 6400 block of Spring Road in Carroll Township, police said.




Jewelry stolen in Perry County

Someone entered a Perry County home on Oct. 27 and stole jewelry, state police at Newport announced Tuesday. The burglary happened in the 1400 block of Couchtown Road in Northeast Madison Township, police said, asking anyone with information about it to call 567-3110.
