GOP Chairman: Cumberland County sheriff, coroner likely to not seek reelection
Cumberland County Sheriff Tom Kline and Coroner Mike Norris are not likely to seek re-election in 2009, according to county GOP Chairman Vic Stabile.
The longtime row officers have informally told Republican officials they will be retiring at the end of this term, Stabile said, adding that their chief deputies have expressed interest in running.
“I have not announced that,” Norris said over the weekend when asked about retirement.
Kline has also not announced his intentions yet, but said he is “thinking about it.”
“Probably within the next two weeks, I’ll be sending a letter out either way,” he stated Monday.
