Jan. 3
• “Remember the Dark,” a cantata for the Winter Solstice, will be presented 6 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalists meeting house, 2 Forge Road, Boiling Springs. David M. Glasgow is the composer and director of the performance.
• New Genesis Singles Ministry will join Crossfire at their singles dance 7-10 p.m. at First Church of God Community Center, 201 E. Green St., Mechanicsburg. DJ Ray Thomas will host. Cost is $8 and bring a snack, dessert or beverage to share.
Jan. 4
• The Jacobs Brothers will appear 9:30 a.m. at Crossroads Bible Church, 1022 York Road, Monroe Township. The Jacobs Brothers have a weekly television program seen by many central Pennsylvanians on WGCB-TV, Channel 49, Red Lion.
• Messiah in the Passover, a vivid and exciting demonstration showing how Jesus fulfilled the ancient feast of Passover, will be held 10:30 a.m. (Spanish service) and 7 p.m. (English service) at Immanuel Church, 800 S. Market St., Mechanicsburg. For more information, call 766-4633.

• “The Shack” by William P. Young will be the monthly book for discussion 10:30 a.m. at Your Daily Grind Cafe, 5103 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg. Sharon Marquart from Unity Church in Enola will facilitate a free discussion.

Jan. 13
• “Reel Spirit,” a five-week class to discuss spiritual themes in movies, will b eheld 6:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 13-Feb. 10 at Unity Church of Harrisburg, 927 Wertzville Road, Enola. The themes’ metaphysical meanings and relationship with Unity principles will be discussed. A love offering of $10 per class is suggested. For more information, call 732-9773.

• A bereavement support group will be offered free of charge 1-2:30 p.m. and 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesdays Jan. 14-Feb. 18 in the pastoral care department at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill. The group is for anyone who is grieving the death of a loved one. To register, call 763-2118 or 972-4255.
